Welcome Home Avery!!

You may read over the course of the next 24 hours mixed reactions to the Rangers re-acquiring Sean Avery. You will hear stores about how hes a bad teammate, a dirty hockey player, and the anti-christ.

But, let me put this into perspective for you, so you can draw your own conclusions rather then acting like sheep of the media.

  1. Can you spot Sean Avery in this clip biting Andrew Peters? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVLBUToVM4w
  2. Can you spot Sean Avery in this clip breaking someones neck? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz9RE9RGrVY
  3. Can you spot Sean Avery in any of this clips? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_v7ORTjd8c
  4. Can you spot Sean Avery smacking Hollweg with the stick? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esETGHljQi4
No - but let me show what Sean clips of Sean Avery you WILL find :

  1. In his first game back at MSG after missing 11 games with a wrist injury Joe Michelleti goes on to say " Can anyone liven up a crowd like Sean Avery, this place has been quiet for 2 1/2 hours without him in the lineup." Shocker! Sound familiar fans of 08-09 Rangers? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5TUVYxT_z8&feature=related
  2. How about he did to Broduer what every one of us have wanted to do since 94? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbFmJrUbwOw&feature=related
  3. How about the skill level ? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp-pLY1W-Gs&feature=related
  4. Or - this only happened when the Rangers were in a must win situation - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dqbeo4uBF78
  5. how about - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTMpCtndOsM
  6. How about telling Crysbaby how it is - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHJLNi31Esg
So, theres the proof - I DARE ANYONE who reads this to show me a clip or highlight of Sean Avery using a dirty elbow, stick, skate, or as rumor has it from NHL offices, the hidden switchblade he conceals in his hockey glove.

Maybe you wont find a clip, maybe you'll pick up a paper and read some of these headlines

  1. Did Sean Avery Gamble? - http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2882460
  2. Did Sean Avery have drug problems? - http://penguinslegends.blogspot.com/2007/12/kevin-stevens.html
  3. Did Sean Avery Kill a teammate? - http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A64521-2005Feb4.html
  4. How about DUI ? - http://www.hockeyforum.com/florida-panthers/44183-panthers-jay-bouwmeester-pleads-guilty-dui.html
  5. Certainly, youll find something then with organized crime right? - http://ballhype.com/story/crime_lords_and_prostitutes_and_kostitsyns_oh_my/
Just as I suspected... All Avery does is talk trash. Sure, its vicious and crude. But isnt that part of sports? Ever see a guard in basketball dribble down the court mouthing off to everyone in earshot? You think Ray Lewis is telling the opposing QB he likes his hair cut? Reggie Miller was only joking on national TV when he did the choke sign to Spike Lee right?

So, in a game where your going 30 mphs with a stick in your hand and blades on your feet, people really get upset over a few words?

This is how Sean Avery plays. Its the only way the 5"10 185lb player could crack an NHL lineup. He had to stick out and make a name for himself. He had to fight and claw to the pro level. Once he got there, he had to continue to do the same in order to keep a job. Could he be a pain in the ass for both opposing teams and teammates? Yes.

Should he be blacklisted by the NHL because of this? No - they should be frying much larger birds.

Now - as for the whole " beats to his own drum " - well he does. Nothing wrong with that. As long as from puck drop to final buzzer he gives his all, he can beat on any drum he so damn pleases. As long as he continues to run to his teammates aid, pot a few goals, and stir the garden again, im game for whatever he plans on doing off the ice. It apparently doesnt include anything that will get him in trouble, like some other NHL players with vices that could land them in jail.

I leave you with this
